Suffolk County Police said the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, on the sidewalk outside the food court at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed while trying to break up a dispute involving a small group of people.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Another 16-year-old boy sustained minor injuries during the altercation and was also transported to a hospital for treatment.
